Demand Connecticut Legislators Prioritize Education Funding

Thanks to you and other legislative supporters, Connecticut has taken significant steps toward fully funding education, including adding $150 million during the last budget. However, more remains to be done. We still have not fully funded ECS, and that is further exacerbated by the recent loss of ESSER funds.

The Connecticut state legislature has taken significant steps toward fully funding education in recent years, including adding $150 million during the last budget. However, we still have not fully funded ECS, and that is further exacerbated by the recent loss of ESSER funds.

As we navigate our first full school year without the assistance of the ESSER funds, the need for a fully funded ECS formula has never been more urgent. We need to address the needs of students and teachers in Hartford and keep schools and classrooms fully staffed. Students deserve equitable access to education and academic programming.

Now that ESSER funds have expired, Connecticut must keep education funding at the forefront of the legislative session. We must fully fund the Education Cost Sharing formula this session and end tuition billing once and for all to ensure all public school types–and, therefore, all Connecticut students–receive the funding they need.
