Tell Senators: Keep ICE away from schools!

This June, the Senate will resume negotiations on a reconciliation bill with an amendment that could restore protections for immigrant students by once again designating schools as sensitive locations. If Senators do not act, schools across the country will remain exposed to immigration enforcement.

Schools must be safe, welcoming places where students, educators, and families can learn and thrive without fear of immigration enforcement or law-enforcement actions that undermine educational environments. The Trump Administration has eliminated schools’ designation as sensitive locations free of immigration enforcement - and once the bill is finalized, this opportunity to restore protections will be lost.

Immigration enforcement activity has devastated local communities by unlawfully ripping students from their homes or schools. As attendance levels dip and morale plummets, students, educators, and families are gripped by fear. Our schools should be safe havens, not places of terror.

Contact your Senator today and urge them to VOTE YES on the forthcoming sensitive locations amendment that will protect school grounds from ICE presence.
