Tell Senators: Keep Fighting for Education Funding

Trump’s proposed FY26 education budget isn’t just a cut—it’s a gut punch to public schools nationwide. It slashes $12.4 billion from the Department of Education, a devastating 15.6% reduction that would leave funding lower than 15 years ago. This isn’t belt-tightening—it’s disinvestment at a time when students and educators need more, not less.

Thankfully, the Senate Appropriations Committee has pushed back, advancing a bipartisan Labor-HHS-Education funding bill that restores what the White House aimed to eliminate, including funding for after-school, STEM, and English language programs. But the budget battle is far from over. Lawmakers must advance this responsible budget proposal through both Chambers.

Families, educators, students, and advocates must speak up before cuts become reality. Send the email below today to thank the Senate Appropriations Committee for rejecting the President’s devastating budget proposal, and demand that they accept nothing less in the final bill than the levels they’ve proposed.

We must not stand by while the future of our students is put on the chopping block.
